WIN! No parking meters in Marrickville shopping precinct

A recent rumour among Marrickville’s shop owners suggested that Inner West Council planned to install parking meters on Marrickville and Illawarra roads.

Concerned shop owners spoke with Marrickville Chamber of Commerce President, Morris Hanna, warning of the impact it would have on their businesses and visitors to the area in general.

The Chamber organised a meeting with Inner West Council Mayor, Darcy Byrne, who gave us his commitment that no parking meters will be installed on Marrickville and Illawarra roads.

Mr Hanna said: “This commitment from Councillor Byrne is a great win for local residents, shoppers and shop owners in our busy Marrickville retail hub.”
